Current Projects
Presently, my passion and goal is to be a sportswriter. It is something that I currently pursue through my own blog, ‘313 Sports Report.’ As the title of the site suggests, it focuses on the big five Detroit sports teams: the Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, and City FC.
The blog has encouraged me to keep up with events in the Detroit sports landscape. I suffer from ADHD, so the note-taking and detailed analysis required for the medium help me stay focused on the game.
Passion for Writing
I desire to tell people’s stories in a way that I would want to read; that is the biggest driver for me. I really want to create work where people can take something from and better themselves with. Anyone can write, but it takes a lot of effort and grit to write something that is worth reading.
But if you were to sit down and grind out some writing with me, you would find it to be an overwhelming, chaotic, and error-filled experience. You would hear the chaos in my voice, see it in my actions, and you would witness the utter mess that is an unedited draft of mine. Despite this, people praised my work.
They would constantly go around touting the strength, power, and creativeness of papers I would wholeheartedly think is garbage. I did not understand what those people were seeing that I was not. And if I am honest, that is why I am as passionate about writing as I am.
